His applied work has included projects on dementia\, HIV\, COVID-19\, and glaucoma. A Distinguished Principal Scientist at the USC Information Sciences Institute at the University of Southern California and Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research for Health Center\, he serves on the Editorial Board of Machine Learning. Dr. Pazzani is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence.
