Commercial and Industrial Businesses May Qualify

In support of enhancing community economic vitality, PG&E offers an Economic Development Rate (EDR) to qualifying businesses. These include Commercial and Industrial Businesses considering relocation out of state, existing and small businesses struggling to stay open or struggling to remain in California. Both bundled and Direct Access or Community Choice Aggregation customers may be eligible for discounts on either all or part of their bills.

For bundled customers, the Santa Barbara County rate reduction of 12 percent, will be applied to the total net bundled charges (i.e., including the generation charges) after application of any applicable rider tariffs, excluding taxes. Net charges before taxes include Peak Day Pricing (PDP) charges/credits, Demand Response Program benefits/charges, Net-Energy Metering (NEM) credits, etc.

The amount of the rate reduction will then be allocated to reduce the customer’s OAT generation and distribution charges.

For Direct Access (DA) and Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) customers, the rate reduction on distribution charges for a similarly situated bundled customer will be applied to the net charges owed to the utility. The net charges owed to the utility exclude generation charges but includes generation-related charges applicable to DA and CCA customers.
