Seventeen Talented Individuals

As we dive into 2025, the EconAlliance Internship Program is making significant strides in shaping the future of our workforce. With a diverse group of seventeen talented individuals currently engaged, this program is not just about internships; it’s about creating pathways to success for the next generation. Among our interns, we have four dedicated students from Allan Hancock College who will be participating in the prestigious California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) fellowship program. Ten college students are returning for the summer, eager to gain hands-on experience and practical skills in their chosen fields. Additionally, we have a high school student ready to explore the workforce and two recent college graduates: one an Agricultural Engineer and the other a Computer Scientist.

Opportunity

Internship placements span across all industries, however, we are still seeking additional locations in the Health Sciences sector.

Empowering Futures: The 2025 EconAlliance Internship Program

If you have an internship opportunity that aligns with our program’s goals, we encourage you to reach out to Alejandra Mahoney at alejandra [at] econalliance.org or by phone at 805-878-1456. Your involvement can make a significant difference in the lives of these students.

Compensation Support

One of the unique aspects of our program is that each intern’s compensation is supported by CNSI or various workforce development initiatives. The Santa Barbara Foundation’s EconAlliance Workforce Grant requires participants to be 18 years or older and have been English Language Learners at any point in their educational journey. This criterion ensures that we are providing opportunities to those who may face additional challenges in their professional development.

Companies that offer internship positions are expected to guide and support their interns. Regular communication with Alejandra about the program’s progress and the interns’ experiences ensures that everyone is on the same page and that expectations are met.

Amplifying Successes

We are currently capturing the voices of our past interns as well as our business partners for an upcoming EconAlliance video. This project aims to showcase the impactful experiences and stories that emerge from the internship program, highlighting how these opportunities shape not only the interns but also the organizations that host them.
