Healthcare Initiative

The Northern Santa Barbara County healthcare industry includes three hospitals (Marian Regional Medical Center, Lompoc Valley Medical Center, and Cottage Hospital Santa Ynez, as well as Mission Hope Cancer Center, eleven Community Health Centers sites on the Central Coast, numerous urgent care clinics, and a wealth of other healthcare providers.

Moving Forward

Since then, Econalliance developed and administered a Healthcare Industry workforce survey with a follow-up forum to present survey results. Simultaneously, research commenced to identify potential behavioral health resource opportunities for industry exploration.

EconAlliance reconvened the Healthcare Industry stakeholder group in 2021 to address the initial priorities established in 2020. In addition, EconAlliance will begin planning for the first Healthcare Industry Forum for Northern Santa Barbara County.

Healthcare Forum – An Intelligent Approach

EconAlliance’s mid-July Healthcare Workforce Forum focused on workforce development in the emerging AI operating environment. Nearly 100 attendees heard featured presentations on “AI in Healthcare” by two experts, with a panel of local healthcare educators discussing the new AI environment and its workforce impacts.
