Over the last month, I have had the privilege of traveling throughout Santa Barbara County to listen.

From the bustling streets of Santa Maria to the innovation corridors near Vandenberg Space Force Base, I’ve engaged with the visionaries, builders, and families who define our region.

One message has come through loud and clear: Opportunity requires a foundation. Northern Santa Barbara County is rapidly evolving into a premier technology and aerospace powerhouse. This growth is exhilarating, but it is only sustainable if we provide the essential infrastructure to support it. To keep our economy moving, we must ensure that the people driving our future—our engineers, our teachers, and our workforce—have access to quality housing and reliable energy.

Our challenge is significant, but so is our potential. We must find the perfect harmony between supporting our world-class agricultural operations and managing the space for new businesses to expand and housing to flourish.

EconAlliance has spent the last 14 years championing opportunities across the Santa Ynez Valley, Lompoc, Los Alamos, and Santa Maria Valley. As I step into this role, I am more confident than ever that we will navigate these complexities together.

The future of Northern Santa Barbara County isn’t something that happens to us — it is something we can create. We are not just participants in this growth; we can and should be the architects of it.
