Interns to Industry Program Debuts New Resources

On October 21st, EconAlliance hosted an invitation only event, Education to Industry, at the Mark Richardson Career Technical Education Center in Santa Maria, CA. Guests were treated to complimentary appetizers, mocktails, and a farm-to-table dinner featuring the generosity of local growers, prepared by SMJUHSD CTE students and staff. The beautiful event space was also curated by students and staff. From the setting to the meal, the evening celebrated their creativity, skill, and teamwork.

The event brought 184 out of 200 invited guests from construction, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and related fields to bring focus to internships and a new, powerful online resource for matching students to industry positions.

Keynote Speakers were: Antonio Garcia, Superintendent SMJUHSD; Representatives from the CTE center; Nash Moreno; Marvin Rodriguez; Daisy Paniagua – Program Manager Workforce Development Board; Interns from the Interns to Industry program; Alejandra Mahoney; and Adam Flaum, Executive Director Lighthouse Nonprofit Technologies.

Invite-Only Education Forum a Hit!
The new software platform was demonstrated in a hands-on beta experience for attendees. The consensus was that this was a new, vital resource that will serve all of Northern Santa Barbara County and beyond.
``Just wanted to send a quick note to congratulate you all on a great event last night! Everything seemed to go really well, despite the crazy weather. The Interns to Industry program is truly an asset to our area, and the new platform will be a tangible product for EconAlliance to build its success on…very impressive. The event looked like a great team effort and I’m sure will be the start of great things to come. You should all be very proud”

I wanted to send this message to thank you for last night's invite, I had a great time. To be honest, I didn't know what the night was about as I arrived, but the message during the event was clear and what I saw last night was encouraging. Keep up the great work!
