Who's Who of Regional Stakeholders
This annual invitation-only President’s Reception drew more than 100 key supporters and regional dignitaries to this year’s event.
As guests enjoyed an elevated experience with food and wine, Laurie Tamura, Board President gave opening remarks, and Ignacio “Nash” Moreno, new to the EconAlliance CEO position, received a wealth of positive feedback for the work already accomplished under his leadership.
Alejandra Mahoney, Workforce Development Director, introduced four interns that have been placed through the EconAlliance Interns-to-Industry program.
Interns Share Experiences

Four interns who were placed into companies of interest by the EconAlliance Interns-to-Industry program were on hand to share their experiences. The organizations that hosted these interns (at no cost) are Art Craft Paint, Immigrant Legal Defense Center, and TKP Blosser Urban Gardens. We thank these interns and the organizations that reached out to EconAlliance for a match!

Guests included Joan Hartman, 3rd District Supervisor; Dr. Susan Salcido, Santa Barbara County Superintendent of Schools; Liz Thasiah, VP at Santa Barbara Foundation; Kevin Walthers, Allan Hancock College; Christopher Williams, Santa Maria Chief of Police; Bob Nelson, County of Santa Barbara Supervisor; and David Brown, Mayor of Solvang.
“I left last night’s reception with an appreciation of our community and a sense of optimism for the work we do. It was a wonderful networking event full of camaraderie and a sense of purpose. You all did a wonderful job making sure attendees made connections and that the conversation centered around “what’s next.” It’s the first networking event I’ve attended that felt purposeful and intentional. A heartfelt great job and thank you! Now it’s left to us, the community members, to carry out the work required to help the community remain sustainable and looking forward. And we will!
Thank you again for a wonderful event. I truly had a great time. 🙂”
